Kenneth Aaron Harris (born October 30, 1980) is an American musician, singer, and songwriter, known for being the former lead guitarist for Panic! at the Disco.
Before joining the band, Kenny released a solo album titled Brooklyn in 2012, and another titled Will U B Minor? in 2015. In 2017, he released an EP called Patterns.
In September 2018, Kenny was fired from Panic! following allegations of sexual misconduct.[1] He has not responded to the allegations as of November 2018, but Panic! released a statement saying his firing was because of 'personal matters'.[2] According to NME, Kenny allegedly solicted selfies and screenshots, and may have communicated with a teenage fan.
Panic! At The Disco rose to the top of the mid-2000s emo wave relatively quickly. Led by then 18-year old frontman Brendon Urie’s talented vocals, the Las Vegas quartet first broke through with the irresistible “I Write Sins Not Tragedies.” As the band’s career progressed, however, Urie and the other band members couldn’t quite agree stylistically on the band’s future sound. The rock sound slowly began to diminish in favor of Urie’s preferred pop sound, especially with 2013s Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die!, which tapped into massive hip-hop influences. Suddenly in 2016, Urie found himself as the only remaining member of the band, which led him to release the ensuing album, Death of A Bachelor, which is ostensibly a solo pop album. Urie then turned his vocal talents to the bright lights of Broadway, spending the summer of 2017 performing the lead role in Kinky Boots. Now in 2018, Urie has returned to the Panic project and has released a new album called Pray For The Wicked.
One word can simply describe the album’s general vibe: bombastic. Urie already knew how to write a good pop song, as proven on the band’s previous releases, but there’s a new theatrical and whimsical flair to his songwriting. The pop sounds are still there, but now Urie has added a backing horn section à la old school R&B, as well as strings, to go with the funky clean guitars and electronic drums to create a fun mix of retro and modern.
Urie’s vocals are (of course) the shining star, as he taps into the highest and lowest reaches of his range. Lead single “Say Amen (Saturday Night), is a perfect example of the bouncy theatrics, gravitating between the massive horn-laden choruses and auto-tuned verses. Another great track is the aptly named “Roaring Twenties,” which channels swing from that era, as well as the guitar-driven “The Overpass,” and the funky “High Hopes,” which contains the biggest hook. Closing out the festivities is the much darker “Dying in LA,” which is a powerful piano ballad with soaring strings in the chorus. It’s a beautiful end to the otherwise nonstop party.
He may not write sins or tragedies anymore, but Urie’s fun lyrics and poppy choruses, combined with his arrangement skills and vocal stylings, prove his Broadway stint did nothing more than boost his already strong writing to create a damn entertaining product.
Hello Brendon! Where are you and what’s happening?
I’m on the tour bus right now – we’re driving through Pennsylvania. I’m looking out of the window and it’s pretty exciting. [Pause] It’s so boring. It’s just a forest and it’s awful.
You seem like a man who keeps a tidy tour bus.
We keep it pretty clean. We only ask for some water and some stuff to make sandwiches.
That’s extraordinarily reasonable.
I can be reasonable.
What does it say about you that everyone else has left your band? (1)Because you do seem like a reasonable person. And yet …
I must have done something really crazy. I don’t know what it was. Everybody wanted out from the Panic thing. I mean, I respect it; any time anyone wanted to leave, the reasons were there, so it wasn’t just a “fuck you”.
Your new album has done very well – in the US, you had your best ever first-week sales, and it was your first No 1 album. (2) What’s that all about?

It’s very strange. I like to think I’ve improved in terms of production style and writing. Obviously, I hope for the best whenever I work on something, but I don’t think about it too much until the album is finally out. I’m so fortunate to still be doing what I’m doing.
When did you last measure how tall you were?
Oh, man. Not since high school, probably.
Would you rather be unusually tall or unusually short?
I used to be unusually short, and I think I’d prefer that to being unusually tall. If you’re unusually tall, that just seems like you’re fucked – you’re gangly and uncoordinated, you’re ducking under doorways, it all just seems awful. (3)
All these years later, would you consider “I chime in with a ‘Haven’t you people ever heard of closing the goddamn door?’” to be one of the best pop lyrics ever or one of the worst? It sits near one end of the spectrum.
I love that lyric. I remember thinking: “Fuck it – that’s going in the song.” I still think it’s awesome.
Are there dogs in your life, and if so how many?
I have a jack russell terrier and a boston terrier.
What are their names?
Humphrey Bogart and Penny Lane.
Absolutely incredible.
They’re both maniacs.
What happened to the song you did with 5 Seconds of Summer?
I’m writing all the time, and whether songs end up on a Panic album remains to be seen, but I had a song and I gave it to 5 Seconds of Summer. They were into it, but I’m not sure what’s happening with it. That happens a lot in the industry, it’s very strange. People will go: “We’ll take the song,” and sometimes things happen … other times they don’t.
And it’s called Pretty in Pink?
Pretty in Ink, actually.
Is it about a lady with a tattoo?
Exactly. That’s what it is. When I came up with that pun I was very excited. I still really like that song, it was a fun moment writing it.
How many stars would you give Elvis Costello’s autobiography on Amazon?
I’d give it a solid four stars out of five. (4) The stories where he talks about hanging out with Tom Waits are fun – going to open mic nights and rapping over the microphone.
Apparently, you made half your new album naked. That doesn’t sound very practical.

You wouldn’t think so, but it was on my property. After waiting more than 10 years to be able to do it, I just built a studio at my house. When I’m at home, I’m naked a lot. My wife finds it hilarious.
Are you looking forward to being 30?
I’m so excited for 30. (5) I hear it’s OK. I’ll probably do the same stuff, but I’ll be more comfortable being who I am.
Are you not comfortable with who you are now?
I’ve always been comfortable in my own skin – sometimes a little too comfortable, which in turn makes other people uncomfortable. I have no qualms: no shame, no guilt, no embarrassment. I tend to act out a lot. When I’m out and about in public and I see someone trying to be the centre of attention, I always think: “What an asshole.” And I suppose that’s how I come off to other people.
Having had all this success with your first Panic album as a solo artist, has it occurred to you that you should have got rid of the rest of the band a bit earlier?
[Huge laugh] Yeah, right? I should have done this years ago! But it has been crazy, from the first split until now it has been a hell of a ride. I always wrote on my own, then later on I’d bring it to the band and we’d all discuss and compromise. Now I write just the same, then I don’t need to compromise at all. I’ve never been more comfortable in my own shoes, and wearing all these different hats.
Are you wearing a hat now?
I am. I’m such a rock star!
(1) Bassist Brent Wilson left in 2006 and was replaced by Jon Walker, who subsequently left along with guitarist Ryan Ross in 2008. Drummer Spencer Smith officially left the band in 2015. (2) Death of a Bachelor includes songs referencing artists such as Frank Sinatra and Queen. It’s quite a listen. (3) The tallest man in the world, Sultan Kosen, also has the world’s biggest hands. (4) Eighty-five reviews give Unfaithful Music and Disappearing Ink an average rating of four stars, although one two-star review notes that the book – the autobiography – is “slightly self-regarding”. (5) Brendon will be 30 on 12 April 2017. On the day Brendon was born, Texaco filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy after failing to settle legal disagreements with Pennzoil Co.
Panic! at the Disco play four sold-out shows in the UK in November. Death of a Bachelor is out now on DCD2/ Fueled by Ramen

Panic! at the Disco Removed Member Amid Allegations was a top 18 story of September 2018: Panic! at the Disco have parted ways with guitarist/backing vocalist Kenny Harris after allegations surfaced that he indirectly requested inappropriate photos from an underage fan.
The allegations surfaced on Thursday from a Twitter user named Ashley under the handle @donasnooze. On Saturday, the band tweeted, 'Touring musician Kenny Harris will no longer be performing with us because of a personal matter.'
The fan shared a series of tweets explaining that she had interactions with Kenny in 2016 while she was 16 years old where he requested a 'pic' from her (she assumed he wanted inappropriate photo(s)). She wrote, 'i really do love panic! at the disco but uhhh. kenneth harris needs to be called out, so here's a thread about my experience with him
'April 20, 2016: this was the first day I ever snapped kenny. I sent him a picture of me with that stupid dog filter, thinking he wouldn't even reply but boy did he. He went on about how cute I was and asked me to send more selfies-
'which I obviously did, and he sent a few back. Fast forward about a week later. My friend and I had tickets to see panic live on july 8th, fifth row from the stage. I snapped kenny and asked him if he could throw me a guitar pick since we were so close to the stage.
'He agreed, but only if I'd send him a 'pic' first. Me being the dumb 16 YEAR OLD that I was at the time, asked him 'what kind of pic', hoping he just wanted another selfie (not that that's any better) but noope.
'He replies back 'surprise me'. So, my dumbass 16 year old self decided to play along and i go, 'If I send you a picture now, you'll forget about me by the time of the concert in July!!'
'to which he replies with 'well, if you keep sending them, i won't' So, I ended up agreeing but always put it off whenever he'd ask. I wasn't gonna actually send him anything. there was no way.
'He would always ask for pics but finally got bored i guess?? I would always make up excuses for why I couldn't send anything and they were not believable whatsoever. but they shouldn't have had to be.
'all in all. he stopped snapping me after he realized he wasn't gonna get what he wanted '
